From Fiastra you head to the beautiful Macereto plateau and its sanctuary. Here you’ll find the imposing northern side of Monte Bove, that is mainly made of massive limestone of Dolomiti type; this part is regarded as the largest rocky wall of the entire mountain ranges.
On your way you’ll find a built up area where people live on sheep farming; there are cheese-making workshops and you’ll have the opportunity to taste typical products.
Keep on cycling and turn your eyes upon wide landscapes: from the heart of the Sibillini mountains yon can enjoy a beautiful panorama over the Appennini of the Marche.
Once crossed Pievebovigliana you reach Lake Polverina, whose banks are suitable for hiking and watching flora and fauna. The lake is comprised in "Polverina wildlife protection oasis". Finally, go back to Fiastra to close the ring with views of the Chienti valley until you can catch a glimpse of Camerino with its fortresses.

PLEASE CHECK IF THE ROAD IS CLOSED IN CASE OF SNOW BEFORE DEPARTING. Call to Municipalities: Ussita 0737 971211 or Visso 0737 95120 - 0737 95421! The stretch from the "Santuario di Macereto" to "Vallestretta" won't be cleared of the snow. In any case, if you feel that the trail is not runnable, a shorter variant is to go down from the "Santuario di Macereto" to the "Appennino" location, taking the county road 209.
