The first part of the route is hilly; you can enjoy great views over the Marche’s hills and the Sibillini Mountains. From km 38, Piantipiega, we head to Fiastrone Gorge, one of Sibillini’s mountains most spectacular natural environments. Here the landscape changes rapidly, with mountain views and hairpin turns that go back up to Fiastra.From here you climb up again towards Bolognola: you can admire the main peaks of the Sibillini Mountains and the openings towards the Fiastrone and Fargnio valleys. Once arrived in Pintura you can enjoy the northern part of the Sibillini mountains with landscapes that rejeuvenate the soul. Continuing your tour, you  reach  the well-known Valico della Maddalena with the beautiful panorama over the Marche; here you can admire the Adriatic Sea , stretching from the Conero Riviera to San Benedetto del Tronto.Climbing down Sassotetto  you quickly arrive at Sarnano; you cycle in the opposite direction for the famous Sarnano - Sassotetto climb, where several Tyrrhenian-Adriatic cycling races  were run. This climb is also included in the list of the 10 most beautiful climbs in the Red Bull ranking.

The great route of the Sibillini Mountains Park.Due to the constant traffic changes of the roads, we advise you to check the route on the park map on the website www.sibillini.net.

This stage marks the access to the territory protected by the Monti Sibillini National Park, the barren profile of its mountains will be the setting until the arrival in Ascoli Piceno. From the Giardino delle Farfalle, between dirt roads and white roads, continue to the intersection for the Grotta dei Frati and the Fiastrone Gorges. The main route, shorter and recommended in periods of rain, floods etc. and brought back in this track, continues straight, descends to the valley of the Fiastrone river and then goes up to Monastero. The variant that leads to the Grotta dei Frati and the Fiastrone Gorges is longer and more demanding, recommended only in summer and after verifying the viability on the park site (www.sibillini.net).From the Cemetery of Monastero continue uphill to the abbey of San Salvatore (or S. Maria in Insula) built on the ruins of a Roman building, perhaps a villa or refreshment point along the route towards Rome. During the restoration work, many finds of Roman-barbarian origin as well as ravenna-styled appeared. To the previous Romanesque church belongs the well-preserved and structured crypt with five naves with cross vaults punctuated by columns and pillars with valuable capitals decorated with plant motifs and stylized animals. Today the church is almost always closed, but its porch and a fresh water fountain make the place an excellent resting place for the pilgrim. From here continue uphill until you reach San Liberato. San Liberato was a nobleman of Loro Piceno who became a friar during the fourth voyage of San Francesco in the Marche, the one of 1215 from which this way was born. The imposing convent of S. Liberato, destination of numerous pilgrims, was born as a simple sacred newsstand dedicated to St. Mary of Soffiano. We recommend a 1.7 km digression that leads to one of the most pleasant and suggestive places of Franciscanism in the Marche: the hermitage of Soffiano whose ruins are placed in a natural cave on the overhanging wall of Mount Ragnolo. Tradition has it that St. Francis resided here on his journey to Ascoli. In addition to the great spiritual tradition, the convent is famous for the quality of its public waters.From here we proceed along the track, passing some hamlets you get to Sarnano.

Situated on a hill which overlooks a spectacular view of the mountains, San Ginesio, which for this reason has deserved the nickname of "balcony of the Sibillini", boasts a historic core that keeps intact the medieval structure and welcomes a prestigious historical heritage and artistic. Our tour starts from Porta Picena, one of the entrances to the historic center from which you can see a part of the mighty walls that surround the town. Upon entering we see the door of the Hospital of the Pilgrims (late 13th century), the church of Sant’Agostino (now auditorium) and the square dominated by the magnificent Collegiate Church. A quick passage to the Pincio and the viewpoint just outside Porta Ascarana to enjoy the magnificent panorama and then down towards the Entogge valley on dirt roads and simple dirt roads to admire the nature that surrounds San Ginesio. 

Percorso impegnativo ( ma abbordabile con e-bike) che permette di visitare Caldarola ed i suoi castelli fino a raggiungere San Ginesio. Un mix di strade bianche, sterrate e secondarie asfaltate.

Lauretan Pilgrimages - Stage 5 from Belforte del Chienti to TolentinoStarting from Belforte, you visit the Church of the Holy Crucifix and the Church of San Sebastiano, then ascend towards the triumphal arch dedicated to Pius VI. Continuing, you reach the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Crossing the countryside, you reach the Devil's Bridge, pass the 16th-century Ospedaletto, and arrive at the Church of Charity. This leads to Tolentino, where you find the Piazza della Libertà, hosting the Palazzi dei Priori and del Podestà. To conclude the fifth stage of our journey, you cross the Fountain of Shells in Piazza Silveri, skirt the Basilica of San Nicola, and arrive at the Monastery of the Augustinians, which regularly welcomes pilgrims.

Un bellissimo viaggio ai piedi dei Monti Sibillini in territorio, autentico e genuino, sempre in grado di stupire ed emozionare. Un lungo susseguirsi di crinali e vallate nascoste, stradine solitarie e borghi senza tempo.Belforte del Chienti sorge arroccato su una ripida altura che domina la sottostante valle del Chienti. All’interno dell’antica cinta muraria vedesnodarsi un caratteristico dedalo di vicoli stretti che conducono alla bellissima piazza rinascimentale.Adagiato a settecento metri d’altitudine, San Ginesio domina l’intera regione, dal mare alla montagna. Dal suo belvedere, superba è la vistasull’intera catena dei Sibillini fino al Gran Sasso. Il borgo, chiuso da una possente cinta muraria, mantiene intatto l’impianto medievale ed accoglie un prestigioso patrimonio storico ed artistico.Sulle sponde del fiume Fiastrone, da cui prende il nome, Camporotondo conserva ancora le antiche mura. Sulla piccolissima piazza  sorge il palazzo municipale, di fronte al quale si trova la chiesa matrice.Si consiglia di percorrere l'itinerario in senso orario.L'itinerario è facilmente collegabile con i Castelli di Caldarola.

Tappa impegnativa che dal Convento dei Cappuccini di Camerino arriverà a Montefortino.Dopo la partenza si raggiungerà la Rocca dei Da Varano e quindi la romanica Chiesa di San Giusto in San Maroto, si riprende la salita verso il Castello di Fiegni e al Santuario del Beato Ugolino, proprio sopra il Lago di Fiastra. Proseguendo verso Sarnano si può fare una una breve deviazione verso il Monastero di San Liberato. Proseguendo verso Montefortino si incontreranno l'Abbazia dei SS Vincenzo e Anastasio e il Santuario della Madonna dell'Ambro.Il ciclopellegrino autosufficiente dovrebbe utilizzare una bici adatta a tutti i percorsi, asfalto, ghiaia, sterrato, perciò la bici più adatta potrebbe essere una mountain-bike dotata di tutti i supporti per borse, borracce doppio e portapacchi, oppure una delle moderne bici gravel o e-bike sempre dotate dei supporti di cui sopra.
