This stage follows the trail of brigands. From the hamlet of Valledacqua you will reach the village of San Gregorio, at about 1000mt altitude where there was the headquarters of brigand Piccioni who in 1860 led the revolt of the papal followers against the Piedmontese in the Piceno hinterland who wanted to annex the Papal States to the nascent Italy. The path continues towards Talvacchia with the path of the brigands that crosses the ridge that separates the Tronto valley from the Castellano valley. We are on the border between Marche and Abruzzo and you can see the characteristic V-shaped profile of the valley, surrounded by mountain groups Laga and Monti Gemelli.
