Marche Trail is back, the autonomous journey to discover Italy in a region
Published on 31/7/2019 by Regione Marche - Outdoor Team
After the great success of last year, in recent days the second edition of the Marche Trail was presented, the most important event "Unsupported Bike Adventure" in the Marche Region.
Important news have been announced for this second edition.
The itinerary, for long stretches modified from 2018, is designed for a journey in the name of the discovery and living a hospitable territory rich in history and traditions. From the Riviera of the Conero to the Riviera delle Palme, crossing the beautiful Marche hills and with your eyes on the main peaks of the Sibillini Mountains. The route will retrace long stretches of the ancient Lauretana way and the Franciscan Way of the Marca. The lowest point is on the sea, the highest point will be at the Maddalena pass in the Sibillini Mountains National Park.

The route (about 350 km and 7500 meters of altitude) is entirely on white roads or side streets. A single journey that will cross the territory of 4 provinces, over 40 municipalities and 2 natural parks (Conero and Sibillini).

Participants will be provided with the GPS track that will have to be followed in full and without cuts. Everyone is free to organize their own trip. There is no time limit and the challenge is not against others, but only against oneself. There are those who leave only with a jacket and sleep a few hours on a bench and those who leave with the bike fully equipped, sleeping in a tent or in a comfortable structure equipped with every comfort.

"It's not a race, there's no ranking. There is no time limit," points out Ivano D'Orazio of the Organizational Committee. It is simply "a journey that allows you to discover in Mtb or Gravel bike all the magic of a territory that can excite and amaze. A journey where those next to you are not the opponent to beat but your companion of adventure."

The appointment is for October 11, 2019.

The event has been included in the 2019 MSP calendar that collects the main bikepacking events in Italy and abroad.
